  • So here it is Saturday morning .... my wife left yesterday for a women's retreat with our church, so I'm a bachelor for the weekend. I got together last night with the rest of the guys from our church whos wives were gone, so we had "guys night." meaning beer, pizza and videos. We ended up watching "Undercover Brother," and let me tell you, it was a riot! Got home early to take care of the pugs, and work on the computer. Went to bed around 12:30. I love my wife, but sometimes a little time apart is a good thing. However, the bed just didn't feel right with her not in it.


    Got up at 7:30 (how's that sleeping in thing working for me?) and now the dogs and I have been hanging out, watching TV, so life is good. I think I'll putter around the house today, go get my hairs cut and do some stuff.


    So enough about me, what's you-alls weekend look like (except for my friend L&F, who's weekend is just about over.


    Have a great day and remember, a tumbleweed blowing across the dog's water dish is a good indication they are thirsty.

    My weekend?  Rain, Rain, poopie diapers, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, naps, oh....and, rain.

  • I agree... time out from the spouse is important, even in a loving relationship.
    It is 9.50am Sunday here so I have almost a whole day left of my weekend . Yesterday was spent playing nurse and taxi to my kids and my parents. Today is looking better, I have no idea what I'm going to do but I'm childfree and parentfree .

  • I spent the weekend hanging out with people dressed like Indiana Jones, Ewoks, and Imperial Storm Troopers.  There was a SciFi convention about 4 miles from my house.  Got to party with my local writer friends and meet a few big names.  Ever heard of John Steakley?  John Carpenter just made a movie from his novel, "Vampires."  Got a lot of inside dirt on how Hollywood works.  Then again, you probably know all that!

  • Bachelor nights are good things every so often.  But you are right.  The bed doesn't feel the same when the wife is gone.
