  • Here's To A Long Life ...

TOKYO, Oct 31 —  The oldest person in the world, Kamato Hongo, died on Friday aged 116.

Can you imagine the things that this lady must have seen over the course of her life? I'll tell you what, this makes me realy think about making each and every day count. Can you imagine the lives she impacted and didn't even realize it? This type of thing really puts things into perspective for me ... I have very little to complain about.

Like my Grandmother said, "Every day you are above ground is a good day."

    True.

  • I don't think I want to live that long... I bet she had forgotten most of what she lived through. It is a great feat though.

  • Um... I dread to actually think what she's seen, as she saw her country beat ignominously in a major war that included the dropping of two nuclear weapons.  That would be something I'd be eager to forget.

But other than that, I see the point you're looking to make, and I have to agree with it.  I just hope I'm not on this earth that long myself.

  • Or like my 92 year old Grandma says, "Damn Republicans!"  My Grandma's a hoot!

  • i've had "the purpose driven life" recommended to me on numerous occasions, so i finally broke down this week and started it, by far the best book i've started in a long while.

  • That's pretty much my motto.  "Every day you wake up sucking air is a good day."
