I took this picture of the pugs awhile back and thought it turned out pretty nice, so I thought I'd share it with you. That's Tootsie on the left and Zoe on the right. These dogs make me happy when I look at them. They have the best faces.
Enjoy!

Here’s a look at my bike on the lift in our custom shop. As you can see it looks nothing like it did. We swapped out the rear fender for one off a Fatboy and the front fenders from a Heritage. You can’t really see the ghost flames, but when it’s in the sun it’ll shine. I’m thinking the bike will be ready for Laughlin in about 20 days … So what do you think?

Wouldn't you know it? The day after my first real day of jury duty, I started to get sick. I was running a high fever, breaking out in cold sweats and just feeling plain miserable. But I still had to work, as there were several projects that had to be finished up. So come Monday, I get the courthouse and just feel like shit. So I talk to the bailiff, and by lunchtime they send me home. I go the doctor to find out I've had an upper respiratory infection that had gotten pretty bad. They put me on a 3-day zithromax antibody treatment and send me on my way. I spent all day Tuesday sleeping and finally, today, I'm feeling sort of like my old self again.
Today is such a nice day, I might go for a little drive along the coast. I wish my bike was finished (it's looking really sweet, by the way) so I could take it out. I'm thinking it'll be done by the middle of next month.
Have a great Easter everyone, and bite the heads off a few chocolate bunnies for me.

Okay, after 43 years of beating the system, I finally got tagged for jury duty. Not only that, but I'm juror #4 of all things. I can't say anything about the case until it's over, so keep checking back in over the next 10 days or so.
This REALLY plays havoc with my work, as I'm missing 3 days a week till the trial is done. So when court lets out at 4:30, I'm off to my other job until 7-8 o clock, plus I'll be working the weekends to make up for the time I was gone M-W. I'll be ready for a vacation real soon.
In other news, I got sworn in as a California Notary today. Need something Notarized? That'll be $10, please.
I'm going to bed, I'm beat. I gotta be in court at 9:30AM.

Once again, it's looking to be a great day. I have nothing really going on today, so it's all about relaxing and taking it easy. I have to pack up some of the stuff in my room and get ready for the painter, who's coming by to smooth out the "popcorn" texture on the ceiling.
The trip to Laughlin last week went well, we're doing a big party with the River Palms resort during the River Run Bike Week April 20-24. It should be a good time. If any of you can come out, please stop by and say hi. Speaking of bikes, mine is in the custom shop where I work getting fixed up. We're going for an "old school" gangster look. All black with silver ghosted flames, ape hangers, and 18-inch wheels with thick spokes. I'll post some pics of the progress.
That's about all I have to report. Have a great weekend.

It's looking like a nice day today ... the sun is out, it's about 70 degrees and I have only 2 errands to run. Today is going to be wonderful. Tomorrow is going to be cool too. I have to make an overnight business trip to Laughlin, Nevada to meet with a casino about putting on a motorcycle show. They're putting me up in their resort, so I'll be spending my time at the craps table before the big meeting. I am SO looking forward to the drive out there ... just the wind in what little hair I have, great tunes coming from the stereo and miles of road. I can't wait!
Had a very funny moment with my wife last night. She been knitting something that has to be done in 12-inch squares. So she stops knitting turns to me and says, "Do you have a ruler?" Siezing the moment, I give her that deadpan look and say, "Honey, in this country, we call them Presidents."
God, I love it when a great joke comes together.
Have an awesome Saturday!

Okay .... I'm tired of being sad and depressed. So let me tell you about some of the cool stuff that's been going on before all this death and such started happening.
As some of you know, last year at a 4th of July block party, I dressed up as a giant robot and got lit on fire. Big, big fun.
Well some pals of mine are in a local band called Kendall and they got some photographs and decided to use them for the cover of their CD. So they wanted me to come out to the CD release party and introduce them in full costume. I spent the day recreating it and showed up in time to introduce them at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa, as shown below:
It was big fun to say the least. Check out their website and listen to a couple of their songs. If you buy the CD, mail it to me and I'll autograph it for you.

Well we buried Joe today. I thought it was going to rain, but it didn't. It was nice and sunny all day long. The service was very nice, the graveside was short and sweet, and the big party at Maggiano's was wonderful. Joe would have loved it.
I did a DVD photostory of Joe's life ... as soon as I can I'll post a link to it.
It's been a long couple of months, and to be honest, I'm really tired.

There's too much fucking cancer around lately.
Two weeks ago, I spoke at Phil Starky's funeral (you can read the story). He became like family to all of us at the motorcycle shop. I saw him 2 days before he died, it was really sad. He couldn't talk, and his lungs were filling up with fluid. The only way I knew that he knew I was there was he lifted his eyebrows.
This week, it's happening to my autistic brother in law, Joe. I've spoken about him before, and we found out he had cancer in November. Today, he's in the same place Phil was right before he died. The family was all together and we took communion ... sort of a "Last Rites," if you will. The hospice worker says he won't make it past the weekend. What a slow, cruel disease cancer is.
There's way too much death in my life right now.
